spring clean your dog’s gear

So you’ve successfully stored your winter gear and made the switchover to spring gear.  You excitedly pull out the boots, packs, harnesses…but wait!  The pack is caked with dried up mud!  The harness looks like it’s begun sprouting its own fur! And the boots…what the heck must have died inside them to make them smell that way?!?

Start the season off “fresh” with these tips on cleaning your dog’s gear.  Then repeat before storing them next year.

Cleaning Dog Packs

1. Secure all buckles and remove all contents including water bladders
2. Hand wash in warm water, mild soap*
3. Rinse thoroughly
4. Hang dry
5. Spot clean with a gentle brush or rag with soapy water

To clean water bladders (found inside the Palisades Pack™ and SingleTrak Pack™):

1. Clean after each use with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly
2. Inflate bladders and allow to fully dry before storing
3. Leave off caps while in storage

*SingleTrak Pack can be machine-washed, cold water, gentle cycle

Cleaning Dog Boots

1. Remove boots from storage bag
2. Wash off loose dirt and dust with a clean cloth
3. Secure all straps and closures
4. Machine wash in warm water, gentle cycle, mild detergent
5. Lay flat to dry

1. Machine wash, warm water, gentle cycle, mild detergent, no bleach
2. Lay flat to dry

Cleaning Dog Harnesses

3. Rinse thoroughly
4. Hang dry
5. Spot clean with a gentle brush or rag with soapy water
